Blue! [Mar. 30th, 2012|03:14 pm]
What's My Mutt?
This little lady's name is Blue. I adopted her when she was 9wks old from the SPCA. When I first got her, they had her breed down as simply "beagle mix," due to her coloring and tail but they said my guess was as good as theirs! As you can see she has one blue eye so the vet initially told us after we brought her home that she was probably a beagle/aussie mix. It seemed perfectly plausible to me. BUT, this girl is growing-- and FAST. She's 13 weeks old now and weighed in yesterday at just under 25lbs! Call me crazy, but that's one seriously huge beagle/aussie mix since at full grown beagles average 20-30, i believe, and female aussies 40-55lbs. If that's the case then that would make her nearly half her adult weight at 13wks!

So, now I'm wondering if she may actually be a beagle/husky cross, which would still explain the bi-colored eyes. For all I know, she could be something else entirely!

I'd LOVE to get some opinions on this!

Bentley [Feb. 6th, 2011|09:56 am]
What's My Mutt?

I adopted my adorable 3 month old puppy, Bentley, from a shelter nearby and they had him as a terrier mix. He looks nothing like a terrier. He has the corgi legs & ears though but we cant figure out what else is in him... PLEASE help me figure out what else he might be. He is tiny (6 pounds) so when I was told he might be German Shepard it seemed completely unrealistic but I don't know if that's just me thinking that. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

What's my (adoooorable) mutt? [Aug. 12th, 2009|05:09 pm]
What's My Mutt?

This here is Taylor who was a stray in Niagara county, NY. I've always taken the vet's word that she's probably a shepherd-husky, but when I look online for other pics of this mix, they look nothing like her. I think german shepherd is a definite factor.. but husky.. not 100% sure.

She DOES, however remind me SO much of Charlie, the star of The Daily Coyote.
So what do you guys think? Sorry, I dont know how to do LJ cut.

dingo/hyena? [Jun. 1st, 2008|07:59 am]
What's My Mutt?
My husband and I just adopted this dog from a shelter here in Orlando. We haven't picked her up yet (she has to be spayed first), but we did spend about an hour in the play area with her. According to the SPCA, she is a 1-year-old, female, "terrier mix," but we wanted to get some other opinions before she comes home and we start training her. She is very affectionate, and likes to sit in our laps (unsolicited!). During the time we spend with her, she was uninterested in the tennis ball, but she could have just been distracted by all the attention. Other than possibly being a dingo/hyena mix, I have literally no clue what this dog might be. Any suggestions?

Love My Mutt<3 [Mar. 20th, 2008|10:00 pm]
What's My Mutt?

[mood |happyhappy]

Hello everyone. I want to introduce you to Jack. I got him around a year ago, so you can see some pictures of his development. He wandered into our yard and I was all prepared to take him to the shelter; and I just couldn't do it, we had, good lord i sound cheesy, bonded. So that is the story of Jack one lucky dog, we have our fun guessing his parentage sometimes, but It would be interesting to hear what someone else thinks.

What's My Mutt?

Hey guys! :) I got my little guy a week ago at an animal shelter that had him classified as an Irish Terrier mix, but he looks nooothing like one. Most people think husky, though some people have suggested Akita or Chow, too. I think he's probably a husky, but I'd love to hear opinions :) He's 8 weeks old and weighs 4 pounds, if that helps any.

Two strays. [Feb. 21st, 2008|09:41 am]
What's My Mutt?

My little cousin found these two wandering at his bus stop. Fliers are going up to see if any owners come forward but if not I am definitely adopting one. They're already pretty attached to me; they follow me around and lay on top of me anytime I'm nearby. Really sweet girls, I'm thinking maybe 3-4 months old. I'd like to keep both but it's obvious they're going to be big. I'm trying to find a good home for the other with someone that I know, that way the sisters can still see each other.

We have our guesses as to what breeds they are mixed with... what are yours?

Guess what I am? [Feb. 18th, 2008|07:32 pm]
What's My Mutt?

This is him shaved^^^^
This is him unshaved after about 8 or 9 months...

YES, he is a mix.  He is about 35 lbs. and atleast 6 inches longer in the body than the breed I know you're all guessing he is ;)

I adopted him in May of 2007 from the animal rescue I volunteer for.  He runs about 100mph.  I think he's part greyhound. ;)  Haha.  He leans!  Haha.  I'm dying to DNA test him.
He has an undocked tail...obviously.

Ok, say what you're thinking!  But think of guesses for what would make him longer, taller, and faster than a _________ ________!
